By clicking directly on a file folder's name link To open a file for editing with the file manager's edit window, simply click the files name link. This will bring up an edit window (example below) for you to be able to edit your file. It is very helpful to have some understanding of code to use this. Also know that you are working on the server, and whatever changes you make are immediate. (Note - you may need to refresh your browser to see your changes). After completing your editing, choose Save File

To create a directory, simply type a name for the directory and click the button - it is done.
To use the create/edit a file button - the same. Give it a name and click the button. If the file already exists, such as a .htaccess file which remains hidden in the file manager, it will appear in your edit window. 
To upload a file from your computer, click the Browse button beside the line Send this File. Then you will be able to browse your computer for the file. After you have selected the file, click the Upload button. Done! 
(not the folder itself), you can open it to browse the depth of the folder.
